What’s Meant for You Will Always Be

Nothing meant to be in your life will ever require you to abandon yourself in order to keep it – Mark Groves

This ranks right up there, for me, with that great little nugget, “You aren’t required to set yourself on fire to keep someone else warm.”

It can be so hard to draw that line, set that boundary, say no, or put an end to the situation. So hard. Especially because, probably, for some time, you’ll be in that in-between place where you’ve given up something you know is right to give up but you feel fear or loneliness or deep uncertainty. You won’t immediately know what your new normal looks like, but you’ll have put a stop to a tired, toxic, depleting pattern and have chosen your own well-being…and that act alone will single-handedly change your life for the better.
